He is a specialist in Belgian and European public and administrative law, with a particular focus on public procurement matters, public-private partnership projects and litigation.
Jorren deals with complex and strategic projects and advises clients from both the public and private sector at local, regional, federal and European level. His work involves assisting clients at every stage of a project, whether a public procurement process, public-private partnership or a structuring or restructuring project.
Jorren also has experience defending the interests of clients before the Belgian Council of State, the Belgian Constitutional Court, the Belgian civil courts, the General Court of the European Union and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Prior to joining VBB, Jorren worked as a regulatory and litigation lawyer in the Brussels office of a leading international law firm.

- Assisting the main player in the Belgian industrial laundry sector with its public procurement strategy, both during the procurement phase and the execution phase, as well as representing the interests of the client in suspension and annulment proceedings relating to the award of public contracts before the Belgian civil courts and the Belgian Council of State
- Advising a Directorate-General of the European Commission in relation to EU public procurement under a long-term framework contract for legal advice
- Guiding an American multinational through the public procurement regulatory framework in Belgium
- Advising a consortium of private parties in the infrastructure sector in the context of the public-private partnership project relating to ring road infrastructure works at the intersection of the R0 and A201 roads near Brussels Airport
- Advising a consortium of private parties in the energy sector in the public-private partnership project relating to the first-of-a-kind gas powered CRM electricity power plant project in Belgium
- Advising a consortium of private parties in the infrastructure sector in the public-private partnership project for the tram line in Liège
- Advising an American multinational in rebutting a formal notice of default received from the Flemish Region for an alleged infringement of a Belgian Regional Decree
- Providing advice regarding compliance with EU Regulations, in particular the Foreign Subsidies Regulation, and the Belgian regulatory framework
- Acting for a client based in an EU Member State before the General Court of the European Union in challenging the legality of EU legislation, in particular by submitting an application for interim measures (suspension) and two applications for annulment before the General Court, as well as advising the client throughout these legal proceedings
- Assisting a client based in an EU Member State in a preliminary ruling proceeding before the Court of Justice of the European Union, including drafting the underlying preliminary questions and responding to the procedural documents of the opposing party. The objective was to obtain a ruling from the Court of Justice as to whether a competitor of the client was to be classified as a public law body serving needs in the general interest that are not of an industrial or commercial nature and thus as a contracting authority subject to the EU public procurement rules
