EU sanctions against Russia – what to expect from the forthcoming 20th EU sanctions package

On 6 February 2026, the European Commission published its proposal for a 20th sanctions package. The adoption of a definitive package is expected to closely coincide with the fourth anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2026.
