On 8 January 2025, the General Court of the European Union delivered its judgment in Bindl v Commission (T‑354/22) and awarded EUR 400 compensation for non-material damage as a result of breaching international data transfer rules. The judgment provides clarity on the burden of proof for establishing international personal data transfers and the criteria for non-material damage caused by such breaches.
