Last week saw the publication of the European Commission’s much-anticipated “Omnibus” package which aims to simplify EU sustainability reporting regulations. We’ve had a detailed look at the proposals in this package to see what exactly the European Commission wants to change in the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (“CSDDD”). After setting out the main aspects of the CSDDD, as it currently stands, as well as the key changes proposed by the European Commission, we give our thoughts on the broader implications of these changes for businesses.
