On 17 June 2025, the European Commission published a proposal to gradually phase out the importation of Russian gas into the Union market by the end of 2027.
On 17 June 2025, the European Commission (“Commission”) published a proposal to gradually phase out the importation of Russian gas into the Union market by the end of 2027 (“the proposal”). The proposal seeks to reduce the EU’s dependency on Russian gas and eliminate exposure to associated trade and security risks.
