Fabrizio is a trade defence specialist and has been involved in multiple major EU anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard investigations. He also represents clients in investigations initiated by third countries such as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Korea, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey and the US. His expertise extends to trade-related matters involving the WTO.
EU and Italian competition law
Fabrizio advises clients across sectors on all aspects of EU and Italian competition law, including merger control, cartels and State aid. He acts at all stages of competition proceedings before the European Commission and the Italian competition authority as well as before the relevant jurisdictional authorities.
Other areas of expertise relating to EU law
Fabrizio’s wider EU practice includes counselling and representing clients in export control, dual use and sanctions matters. He is also active in cases concerning the free movement of goods and services.
In the EU regulatory realm, Fabrizio has a particular focus on the steel, automotive and packaging industries, covering Green Deal-related matters such as CO2 emissions, single-use plastics, and waste shipment. - Representing the leading Korean chemical group LG Chem in an anti-dumping duty investigation initiated by the European Commission.
- Assisting a leading Vietnamese steel producer which obtained a full exemption of anti-dumping duties following a European Commission investigation into imports of hot-rolled coils
- Assisting the Brazilian Association of Ferroalloy and Metallic Silicon Producers in a safeguard investigation opened by the European Commission into imports of alloys.
- Representing an Italian financial holding company in a European Commission investigation alleging the existence of a cartel in the automotive starter batteries sector.
- Advising a leading Turkish construction group in preparing notifications and related investigations by the European Commission under the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation in the context of public procurement procedures in the EU.
