Two VBB matters shortlisted for GCR Awards 2026

GCR has shortlisted two VBB matters for its 'Behavioural Matter of the Year - Europe' award.

Two of the prominent behavioural matters that the VBB competition team has acted on have been shortlisted for ‘Behavioural Matter of the Year – Europe’ by Global Competition Review (GCR).

The first is the European Commission’s end-of-life vehicle cartel investigation, coordinated with the UK Competition and Markets Authority, which conducted a parallel investigation. Both investigations were settled on 1 April 2025. VBB represented a target of the investigation.

The second matter relates to Intel’s appeal against the Commission’s reopened decision in the long-running rebate abuse of dominance case. In its judgment of December 2025, the EU General Court significantly reduced Intel’s fine. We represented Intel in the case.

The winning matters will be announced at GCR’s 16th Annual Awards Ceremony on 24 March in Washington, DC.

VBB has received GCR Awards several times before, including multiple “Matter of the Year” awards, as well as the award for top European competition firm.
