Pro bono: Committed to making a difference
Our pro bono programme leverages our exceptional international and domestic legal expertise to create meaningful change in communities that need it most, advancing the public interest through impactful initiatives.
It has four main strands.
Our programme extends to vulnerable individuals, non-profits, and international organisations, focussing on strengthening the rule of law, protecting human rights, and advancing access to justice.
We provide advice, conduct projects and represent pro bono clients in (strategic) litigation.
We are particularly dedicated to addressing issues related to asylum seekers’ rights, supporting forcibly displaced persons and advancing gender equality and racial equality.
Drawing on the strength of our renowned trade practice, we assist developing countries and their organisations in building capacity, navigating the World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement system, and participating as third-party interveners in WTO panel proceedings.
We also support negotiations aimed at reforming the Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) mechanism.
We assist global NGOs and social enterprises by providing legal advice, research, and training to help them achieve their missions and drive positive change worldwide.
We use our legal expertise to address the urgent global challenges posed by environmental degradation and climate change.
We aim to support efforts that protect natural resources, advocate for climate action, and promote sustainable development.
Through strategic legal advice, litigation, and support to non-profits, communities, and international initiatives, we work to advance policies that reduce carbon emissions, safeguard biodiversity, and protect the most vulnerable communities disproportionately affected by environmental harm.
