On 27 February 2025, the European Commission published its proposal for a regulation simplifying the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Among others, the proposed changes – which now have to be approved by the European Parliament and the Council – would significantly reduce the number of EU entities subject to the CBAM.
