18 individual rankings for our lawyers across five core practice areas in the 2025 edition of the Chambers Europe Guide reaffirm VBB’s expertise in EU and Belgian law. 11 of our lawyers, and all our ranked practice areas, are ranked in the top three ranking bands.

Expanding upon the rankings achieved in the 2025 Chambers Global Guide [insert link to web piece], the Europe Guide continues to award Band 2 ranking to our Belgian competition practice, praised for being “highly capable of dealing with complex matters”, and Band 1 ranking to our “prominent” life sciences practice, in acknowledgement of its “in-depth and excellent industry and pharmaceutical knowledge”. Competition partner and life sciences co-head Peter L’Ecluse is recognised for his expertise in both Belgian competition law and for his regulatory and commercial work in relation to life sciences. Fellow life sciences co-head Catherine Longeval also receives recognition as an “excellent partner” in regulatory and dispute-related life sciences matters.

We are grateful to our clients for their trust and recognition and to our teams for their commitment and hard work. These rankings reflect the depth of our expertise and our dedication to delivering the highest level of legal service.
